The UConn women’s basketball team has been on a tear in their latest winning run, crushing all opponents in their path. Since their narrow loss to Arkansas on January 28th, the Huskies have been unstoppable, rattling off 10 straight victories, many by double-digit margins.

During this winning streak, the UConn women’s basketball team has proven to be dominant on both sides of the ball. They have averaged 83.9 points per game while holding opponents to just 52.9 points per game. Their defense has been especially impressive, holding five opponents to under 50 points and two opponents to under 40 points.

Junior guard Christyn Williams has been leading the charge for the Huskies, averaging 19.3 points per game during the winning streak. She has been complemented by the strong play of sophomore guard Paige Bueckers, who averages 18.3 points per game and leads the team in assists with 122 on the season.

But it’s not just the two guards who have been carrying the team. Senior forward Olivia Nelson-Ododa has been a force in the paint, averaging 12.5 points and 8.2 rebounds per game during the winning streak. And sophomore guard Nika Muhl has emerged as a key contributor off the bench, providing energy and tenacity on defense.

Perhaps the most impressive aspect of the UConn women’s basketball team’s recent success is their ability to win convincingly against quality opponents. During the winning streak, they have defeated three ranked teams in No. 17 DePaul, No. 21 Tennessee, and No. 18 South Florida. They have also picked up wins against strong programs like Villanova and Marquette.

With only a handful of games left in the regular season, the UConn women’s basketball team looks poised for a deep run in the NCAA tournament. They are currently ranked No. 3 in the country and seem to be hitting their stride at just the right time.

If they can continue to play at the same high level they have during their winning streak, the UConn women’s basketball team could be the team to beat come March Madness. With a potent offense and suffocating defense, they have the tools to make a run at a national championship.
