The UConn Women’s Basketball team continues to display their dominance in college basketball, recording yet another victory against the St. John’s Red Storm on Saturday, Jan. 30th, 2021.

The Huskies entered the game with a 8-0 record, and they showed no signs of slowing down as they cruised to a 94-62 win over the Red Storm. The Huskies were led by freshman standout, Paige Bueckers, who scored 20 points, and added six rebounds and four assists to her impressive game.

Bueckers, who was recently named the National Freshman of the Week for the second time this season, has been a key player for the Huskies this season, averaging 18.1 points per game and leading the team in assists and steals. The Minnesota native has undoubtedly been a driving force behind the Huskies’ impressive start to the season.

But Bueckers was not the only Husky to shine in the game against St. John’s. Junior guard Christyn Williams also had an exceptional game with 19 points and three steals, while sophomore Anna Makurat contributed 13 points and six rebounds. The team’s collective performance was a testament to their depth and skill, highlighting their status as a championship-caliber team.

The Huskies’ dominance in the game was evident from the start, as they quickly built up an 11-0 lead within the first three minutes of play. They continued to add to their lead, finishing the first quarter with a 33-14 advantage, and they never looked back.
