The University of Connecticut’s women’s basketball team has announced the addition of four new recruits for the upcoming season. The team, which has won 11 national championships, is always looking for new talent to help continue their storied success. With the addition of these four players, UConn is poised to make yet another run at a national title.

The first recruit announced is Caroline Ducharme. Ducharme is a 6’1″ guard from Milton, Massachusetts. She is considered one of the top players in the country, ranking 24th in ESPN’s Top 100 rankings for the Class of 2021. Ducharme has a diverse skill set, consisting of solid shooting, ball handling, and defensive abilities. She also has experience in playing for USA Basketball, winning a gold medal with the U16 team in 2019.

Next up is Azzi Fudd, a 5’11” guard from Washington, D.C. Fudd is widely regarded as the top prospect in the country and has been a top recruit for several years. She is also a member of USA Basketball, winning four gold medals while playing for the U16, U17, and U19 teams. Fudd’s scoring ability is her biggest asset, and she has a knack for hitting big shots in crucial moments.

The third addition is Amari DeBerry, a 6’5″ forward from Williamsville, New York. DeBerry is another highly touted prospect, ranking fourth in ESPN’s Top 100 rankings. She has a versatile skill set, with the ability to play both inside and out. DeBerry was also a member of USA Basketball, winning gold medals while playing for the U16 and U17 teams.

Last but not least is Saylor Poffenbarger, a 6’2″ guard/forward from Middletown, Maryland. Poffenbarger is ranked 21st in ESPN’s Top 100 rankings and is known for her versatility and all-around game. She has experience playing at the highest levels, having been a member of the USA Basketball U16 and U17 teams.

With the addition of these four recruits, UConn’s roster looks to be one of the most talented in the country. Head coach Geno Auriemma has a reputation for developing top-tier talent, and these players have the potential to be some of the best in the program’s history. UConn fans are surely excited to see what this group can accomplish on the court, and the rest of the country should be on notice as well. Another championship run could very well be in the cards for the legendary UConn women’s basketball team.
